With weekly jobless claims coming in below expectations, Dow futures ticked higher, signaling renewed faith in labor market strength. Economists warn that sustained tightness could prolong restrictive monetary policy. U.S. stock futures were higher this morning, with the Dow futures gaining around 100 points on Friday. The Dow Jones ( DJIA ) is climbing higher on Friday and was able to secure a new all-time high of 47,049.64 despite a disappointing batch of economic data from the Institute for Supply Management (ISM). Dow futures display mild gains supported by bank earnings beats. The sector’s better capitalization levels add credibility to forecasts of sustained equity market growth.
