NYMEX natural gas futures are consolidating at $2.41 per MMBtu, with traders closely watching updated NOAA temperature maps, which may trigger a breakout if colder patterns persist. They also include approximately 800 billion cubic feet equivalent of proven reserves, based on NYMEX strip pricing, as of 30 June 2025. Natural gas forward prices mounted solid gains across the curve during the Sept. 24-Oct. 1 trading period as November took over the prompt month position and the market trained its sights on the heating season. NYMEX natural gas futures are holding at $2.42 per MMBtu, with technical charts showing an ascending triangle pattern, signaling potential bullish breakout.
