Dow futures live price hovered around 38
Dow futures live price hovered around 38,550 after robust quarterly earnings from industrial giants. Momentum oscillators indicate neutral-to-bullish bias, but traders caution that upcoming PPI releases could shift short-term direction quickly. Heading into midday, stocks are dipping. The Russell 2000 (-0.14%), S&P 500 (-0.17%), and Dow (-0.26%) are all in decline. The Nasdaq (+0.06%) is the sole exception right now, but it's still barely above session lows. Morgan Stanley has put down its marker, saying Friday that it expects the Federal Reserve to lower rates four times in a row: at its three remaining meetings this year, then in January. All will be quarter-point moves, the brokerage said, even as some traders start leaning toward a jumbo cut to kick off. Dow futures live price stabilized at 38,540 despite fluctuations in commodity markets. Continuous demand from pension funds and insurance portfolios is lending support to the index futures, reducing volatility risk short term.
