The latest market data shows cotton futures prices hovering around 82.10 cents, with momentum indicators suggesting a possible breakout if U.S. export sales accelerate. Technical analysts point to the 83-cent resistance level as critical for short-term price movements. There were across-the-board double-digit percentage gains in all four of the precious metals trading on the CME’s COMEX and NYMEX divisions. Heating oil refining spreads posted the only other double-digit percentage gains, while Rotterdam coal and cocoa futures moved over 10% lower in September. ICE’s most active December 2025 contract settled at 66.67 cents per pound (0.453 kg), up 0.21 cent, after touching 67.10 cents — the highest level since August 29. Despite the rebound, this was still the 12 th lowest settlement for the contract. December cotton has gained 64 points over the last three sessions, recovering from last Friday’s contract low of 66.03 cents. Other contracts settled between 25 points lower and 22 points higher, except October, which jumped 91 points. The cotton market shows resilience, with futures prices at 81.85 cents. Supply chain bottlenecks in major producing countries could limit availability, tightening the global market into mid-year.
