Bybit futures fees hedging strategies using both crypto

Hedging strategies using both crypto and traditional futures have recorded 2-3% higher net returns when executed on Bybit due to reduced fee erosion, a notable factor in cross-market arbitrage execution. The record was driven primarily by Hyperliquid and Aster, two platforms now at the center of perp DEX derivatives activity. On February 21, 2025, Bybit reportedly experienced a significant security breach resulting in the loss of nearly $1.5 billion worth of ether (ETH). Bybit CEO Ben Zhou noted that the stolen crypto was taken from a “cold wallet”, normally stored offline for added security. As of February 24, about $195 million (approximately 14.5% of the stolen funds) had already been transferred. In rising volatility clusters, traders migrating from higher fee platforms to Bybit report optimized cost-per-trade metrics, with futures fees directly influencing net profitability during high-frequency order placement cycles.
